Learner Badge: Create a game

The aim of this afternoon's session is for the learners to create a game using their homework or work that the teachers have given you to do with them. You will use Flippity and teach them how to play and create:

Preparation for afternoon club: Flippity (gaming badge)

  • Go to a teacher and ask them for a word and clue list to use for the above games (e.g synonyms, antonyms, history- places, maths- terminology)
  • Create an example for the kids to play when they come in. You can be inventive.... (also see your fellow ITEs examples) (submit to your POE folder and put the link on the Flippity sheet)

Activity 1:

  • Let them play the example game you have created.

Activity 2

  • Let them create their own game. Pick one of the above games/ or any of the other Flippity games for the learners to create. If it is younger learners, stick to where they copy and paste or insert and type words and explanations (flash cards/snowman)
    • Explain to them how to do it. (Show them)
    • Let them create their own game.
    • Let them play each others game.

Activity 3

  • They must copy and paste their game link to the online game sheet here (or you must do it- evidence). See where to find the link below.
  • Stamp their badge tracker on the gaming badge and make sure that you add it to the online badge tracker sheet.
