This year our DIeP teachers (Deep Integration of edtech in our Pedagogy) will be going even "diep-er". We will explore how you can infuse devices, apps, and tools into our classroom practice in a "diep-ly" effective way using various learner-centered strategies. So, let's start with what this programme is about and why you should join this programme....

How DIeP can we go?
For a voice-over video of the presentation, see: https://youtu.be/1yF3WEn0GRc

An additional MCO flipped mock workshop will also be offered to ALL maths teachers doing MCO.

Tech workshops
In the last week of the term, all DIeP teachers will be doing a theory and practical mock exam to demonstrate their cool skills in using the lab and equipment. To this end, the ITEs will be hosting school-based and interschool sessions to get everybody confident and ready! Ask your ITE for more information and school training dates.

So, how do you go about creating and implementing your DIeP e-lesson ?
You start with your CAPS and ATP. Your learning outcomes must be at the core of your DIeP lesson!

- Have a one-on-one session (you need two a month for your targets) with your ITE or with Maggie (via team, google meet/@K-space) or
- Have a group session with your colleagues (Interschool (20), School based (20)pts) to plan your lesson using the Diep lesson template (Make a copy of the lesson plan template).
- Look at what tools you have available. If you do not have tablets, a data projector or visualizer etc, ask your friendly neighbourly school if you can borrow theirs, or book our tablet and data projector magic box for your lesson (at least a week in advance).
- Make sure that you tick all the boxes🤩✔️as per your lesson plan: (see Tpack, SAMR and 4C slides above)
- Is your lesson learner-centered and active (instead of passive learner involvement)?
- Are all 4 C's incorporated in your lesson?
- Where in the SAMR model would you say your lesson is? Remember you are trying to not just substitute or augment, you are aiming for Modification and even Redefinition this year !
- Is TPACK balanced? It is not about the tech; it is about the learning!
- Does your use of tech in your lesson grab the attention of your learners?
- Are you using tech to engage with your learners and them with each other?
- Are you using tech to consolidate what the learners have to achieve (/for assessment)
- Are you using tech for feedback?
- Was the tech seamless? (We can try....😃)
- Book your ITE / e-learning team to join you for your Diep lesson and to take photos/ videos and a recording of your lesson (it counts as a one on one).
- Implement your lesson!!!! (D-Day)
- Make a video voice-over of your PowerPoint and export it as a video to earn your Video Badge. (ask your ITE for assistance (1 on1 pts😄)
- Update your lesson plan with what worked, did not, changes for next year and complete the self-evaluation rubric.
- Upload ALL evidence into your POE folder in your school G-drive (ask your ITE for access)
- Photos, videos, slideshows, digital word documents like worksheets, posters, etc
- Completed Lesson template with links to the various online tech eg kahoot, geogebra applet, Flippity arcade game, TikTok, etc). Don't forget to add the tech devices on your lesson template (and how you used them)
- The lesson video recording (ITE)
- The lesson voice-over video.
- Your self-evaluation rubric
- Claim your badge: All Badges HAD TO have been used during a lesson or for lesson preparation (proof).
- Don't forget to have fun!!!!!
How can I earn points for my myself and my school?
To see our point breakdown print document, with explanations, see here. All minimum targets must be reached for schools to earn their annual tech allowance.

e-Lesson Feedback
As part of our collaboration drive, and in our quest to strive for e-learning excellence, we will be introducing a feedback system. Remember to conclude your e-lesson with ...
- What worked...
- And what did not work well...
- How can I make my lesson plan better for future use
