
Get ready for an exciting coding competition, TANKS powered by Tangible, as part of our ongoing Nelson Mandela Day celebrations in Knysna. The competition involves a QR-based block system and promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and coding skills among our IT enablers (ITEs) and our learners.
Instructions

- Download TANKS powered by Tangible from the Play Store onto your mobile devices. (NB if you do not have enough mobile devices- ask the teachers to join with their cellphones) What other plan can you make?)
- Conduct afterschool preparatory practice sessions for 30-45 minutes, introducing learners to the app and teaching them sequencing and looping actions.
- The competition will consist of teams of 3 - 4 learners per participating group (1 device per group)
- After 67-Minutes, ITEs will take a screenshot of the Highest-Level achieved by learners.
- After successful completion learners will be awarded an "Unplugged Coding" Badge
- Remember to save all evidence (photos and screenshots) in the learners folders.
Objective
The Objective of the Tanks applications is to move the tank to the star in each level using as few tokens as possible.
The competition aims to develop coding skills, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking in learners while making learning fun. Let's ongoingly honour Nelson Mandela's legacy by inspiring our learners to excel in coding and teamwork.
