Apart from being the first day of school term, Mandela day was a busy affair here at KILT. Our ITE's got stuck into embracing the spirit of Mandela by feeding 350 people through our Jars of Hope drive for Mandela day. They designed individual labels for each of the bottles (and learned how to use Canva) and the ingredients were sponsored by our ITE head office at Edunova. The bottles were then taken to soup kitchens in the Knysna Region to distribute to the surrounding communities and families.
Thank you Lyndie and team for organising our Mandela Jars of Hope campaign and the ITE's for putting on the personal touch, while learning some valuable design skills.

That was not all.
In the spirit of ...

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime

We also spread hope in enhancing our learners' skills for the future, by running a 67 minute ITE coding tournament in all our KILT schools using the Rangers coding sets donated by Tangible Africa. This made us part of the bigger worldwide effort to get our learners coding!
Thank you Tangible Africa, the Leva Foundation and Knysna Secondary School for lending tablets to other schools who didn't have devices, to do the tournament. Our KILT schools are about UBUNTU and supporting one another!
We will update this post with the winners and more photos!

Such a comforting and motivating read! It’s amazing to see individuals working together to improve the lives of those who are less fortunate. Your commitment to giving food away and doing good has sparked kindness and hope in our planet. Let’s keep spreading the generosity and compassion that will improve the world for all those in need. I appreciate you being a great example of human kindness<3!
