E-learning in our KILT schools

What does e-learning get up to, a quick summary....

Our theory of change:

We work within the TDP project assisting the Maths and language teachers to infuse technology effectively onto their lessons.

  • Inter school workshops
    • Learner Centered Strategies (Flipped classrooms, Game Based learning, Rotation stations)
    • Hands on (active vs passive)
    • Subject CAPS specific
  • Tools and apps
    • Basic skills
    • Relevant
    • Subject CAPS specific
    • Create own resources but not re-inventing the wheel
    • Wakelet resource sharing (our focus this term)
  • DIeP Lessons - going deep (SAMR, TPACK, DIeP....)
  • Intra sessions with the teachers (one on one and small groups, during school time and after school pop-ins at KHBC)
  • One on ones with ITEs for skills and resource creation as well as lesson implementation support.
  • TeachMeets (Last one on 2nd November)

ITEs

The ITEs is our heart, our hands and feet on the ground

  • Training on a Friday (Confidence, skills, knowledge)
  • Manage the labs and assist the teachers to manage their tech.
  • One on one training with the teachers to help them with tech skills and resources.
  • Record e-lessons and assist during e-lesson implementation.
  • Help with Greenshoots (MCO)
    • Download the brain quests
  • Track the data in schools
  • Assist the teachers with upload of POEs
  • Teacher Tech advocacy (nagging)
  • Assist teachers with file and resource management.
  • Look after learners when we are working with the teachers during the day.

After school clubs

  • Robotics and coding
  • After school study clubs - Greenshoots

Vocational Focus learners (Grade 11 and 12)

  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet
  • Workshops during the Holidays
