Wakelet collection
To encourage teachers to complete their Wakelet badges and participate in the Wakelet Challenge, we need to familiarize them with the "Wonders of Wakelet". We will therefore have a "Chuck it in your Wakelet playdate" next Tuesday, the 9th of September, at the Kspace. The first 12 people who book can come and play! The idea is that they (and my ITEs) will then do school playdates where they can "chuck" it in their Wakelet. They need to collect at least 10 resources relevant to them in their Wakelet. ITEs need to start collecting resources that will be useful for their teachers.
How can you add resources to your wakelet?
Harvesting
Go to someone who teaches the same subject as you or has the same interest as you, and "harvest" their stuff to "chuck
- Go to wakelet.com@klearning (make sure that you are following us!)
- Chuck some of the klearning resources into your collections.
- Search for your subject choice in Wakelet's vast library of teachers. (e.g. grade 2 maths/ Graad 2 Wiskunde)
Chucking
For this you will need to have the browser extension installed on your laptop or the app on your cellphone.

- Do a few resource chucks using the extension button
- Do a few resource chucks on your mobile phone

Organising
- Create collections. You can now have only three public collections. Choose them wisely eg. maths resources, Language resources, General
- Drag the resources that you have already collected into the various collections.
- You can then organise them into sections with headings.
- Prettify all your resources and collections, and change the headings and descriptions.
- Remember, you can use Canva with AI to design pictures.
Creating flashcards for Maths (MCO and Siyavula)

We would like you to support the teachers by creating vocabulary/terminology flashcards for all the MCO brainquests
Instructions
- Sign into your Schools MCO
- Look for the words that could be a problem for the learners and add them into your Flippity flashcard tool
- Ask AI for age-appropriate descriptions or explanations for your flashcards
- Publish your flashcards and add the play link to the spreadsheet that Lyndie will share with you. (eg, see the flashcards we used for the teachers' workshop )
- Add your vocab flashcard links here ➡️https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DutqyAWhbFF-BgSH3aHQ6Un130N3En29ETRxkX3P5E0/edit?usp=sharing
Padlet and lesson showcases
We are creating an exhibit for all our schools and teachers and you! See here: DIep Padlet:

- In your padlet, create a collection for each of your teachers. Here you will showcase their lessons with some video and photos to give us a glimpse into how it went. Please share each teacher's Breakout room url with them, so that they can add their own input as well (How do we do that? )
- Add the teachers' breakout room to our Superstar Padlet above with a fun photo of them.
- PS make sure that you blur all learner photos unless you have consent (Logan please show us how)
- Let's do this!
