Google Meet Badge

Google Meet is a video conferencing platform by Google for virtual meetings, webinars, and online collaboration. It supports video calls with screen sharing, chat, polls, and breakout rooms, and integrates smoothly with Google Workspace tools like Gmail and Calendar. Offering encrypted calls and strong security, it accommodates both small meetings and larger events with up to 500 participants.

Make sure that you upload all your Proof of Evidence (POE) to your school (G-drive) folder for us be able to officially award your badge. Ask your ITE for your folder link. Check how many of the following criteria you have already mastered! If you need assistance with any of the criteria, please book a one on one with your ITE or work through the how to tutorials for Google Meet.

You can now earn your GFC Global certificate in some cases. This is optional (for teachers) but not for learners and ITEs. It is advisable for teachers to do the certificate as proof of competency and will level you up to two stars (double badge power).

The criteria for the Google Meet Badge are as follows:

Please make sure that you can do ALL of the items below. If you can't do it, please ask your friendly ITE for support. You have to be able to:

  • All basic skills, including:
    • Ability to create and join meetings
    • Knowledge of scheduling meetings via Google Calendar.
    • Familiarity with meeting invitation features (e.g., sharing join links, adding participants).
  • Can use controls such as:
    • Use of host controls (e.g., mute all, remove participants).
    • Managing who can present or share their screen.
    • Ability to manage breakout rooms and organize group discussions.
    • The ability to do Q&A's, polls, or other interactive tools.
    • Screen sharing and presenting content (e.g., slides, documents).
    • Recording meetings and sharing meeting resources post-session.
  • Have you uploaded a lesson or classroom related material into your school G-drive POE folder?

Badge Activities

Activity one (ALL)

  1. Register for an account on the GFCGlobal platform
  2. Complete the Google Meet GCFGlobal Tutorial. Make sure that you make notes as you go along. Watch the videos and complete the tasks within the tutorial.
  3. Create a worksheet or subject related document for your DIeP lesson and add to your POE folder. (teachers)
