
- Go to the Flippity website: Start by visiting the Flippity website at https://www.flippity.net/. Flippity offers a variety of interactive tools for educators, including Virtual Breakout.
- Access the Virtual Breakout template: Once you're on the Flippity website, click on the "Use Flippity Activities" link at the top of the page. Scroll down the page until you find the "Virtual Breakout" option and click on it.
- Make a copy of the template: When the Virtual Breakout page opens, click on the "Make a copy" button located at the top of the page. This will create a copy of the Virtual Breakout template in your Google Drive.
- Customize the Breakout activity: Open the copied template in your Google Drive. You'll notice that there are different tabs at the bottom representing each aspect of the Breakout activity, such as "Instructions," "Questions," "Answers," etc. Customize each tab according to your needs.
- Set up the questions and answers: In the "Questions" tab, you can input your own questions and create multiple-choice answers. Corresponding answers should be placed in the "Answers" tab. Make sure to follow the instructions provided in the template to format your questions and answers correctly.
- Configure the Breakout settings: In the "Settings" tab, you can adjust various parameters of the Virtual Breakout. You can set the time limit, choose whether to display a countdown timer, specify the number of attempts allowed, and more. Customize these settings based on your preferences.
- Publish the Breakout activity: Once you have customized the template to your satisfaction, click on the "File" menu and select "Publish to the web." A dialog box will appear asking you to confirm the publishing. Click "Publish" to proceed.
- Obtain the Breakout activity link: After publishing, you'll receive a unique link to your Virtual Breakout activity. Copy this link.
- Share the Breakout activity with your participants: Share the link with your participants, such as students or colleagues, through your preferred communication method (e.g., email, messaging app, learning management system). Participants can open the link in their web browsers to access the Virtual Breakout activity.
- Guide participants through the activity: Instruct your participants to work through the Breakout activity by reading the instructions and solving the questions. They will input their answers directly into the Google Form integrated within the Virtual Breakout template.
- Review participants' progress: As participants submit their answers, you can review their progress by opening the corresponding Google Form linked to your Virtual Breakout activity. The Form will capture participants' responses.
- Analyze and provide feedback: Once the Breakout activity is complete, you can analyze participants' answers, provide feedback, and discuss the results. Use this opportunity to facilitate learning and engagement
