We are delighted to announce that TOYOTA South Africa will be sponsoring 10 IT Enabler learnerships for our KILT Project. We would love to hear from young applicants between the ages of 18 and 263 who have great digital literacy skills and lots of enthusiasm! If you love computers and helping others to do the same, then this learnership is for you! You will learn how to live up to the name of being an IT enabler - facilitating the process of getting learners and teachers to be confident digital citizens.
This is a tough learnership! You will be deployed in our schools around Knysna and Sedgefield and work with learners and teachers. You will assist our senior ITEs to run our school computer labs and support teachers with ICT integration in their classrooms.
We will provide ongoing training as part of the YES4YOUTH Presidential Programme and prepare you to be an outstanding, hard-working asset in any future employment.
Duties
- Manage the daily operations of the school PC lab.
- Focus on integrating technology in the school.
- Capture data for the e-learning log frame and point system.it ⁶
- Complete an intensive training schedule to build your skills.
- Assist learners and teachers who require assistance with using technology.
- Facilitate training for teachers and learners.
- Run afterschool computer fun clubs for the learners (robotics, coding, apps, games and tools).
- Facilitate Teacher Tech Thursdays at our KILT schools.
Requirements
- Matric certificate with minimum of 50% for Maths Lit or 40% for Maths.
- Reliable transport to and from work.
- Computer and digital literacy skills (competent with MS Office, Google Docs, File management, internet and email).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Team player with a positive mindset.
- Demonstrate the ability to teach yourself apps and skills using online resources.
- Outstanding organisational and time-management skills.
- Good people skills and willing to work under pressure.
- Access to a reliable computer or laptop.
- Valid Police Clearance.
- Aged between 18 and 27.
- Available for interviews and practical assessment of skills in the first two weeks of April, and if selected, able to start immediately after the initial screening period, if selected.

- Wait to be contacted for an interview on either 3rd or 4th April.
- Wait to be invited to the practical computer test.
- Undergo onboarding training and orientation.
- Be placed in your school for mentorship by your senior ITE.
- Become part of our KILT-Edunova Team.
- All learnerships are for a period of one year.
- All information collected will be in strict adherence to the POPI ACT.
Renumeration
- Monthly stipend (approximately R4407).
- Hands-on training.
