and Strategic e-Plan
Using the Theory of Change to create a robust ICT action plan driven by our vision and mission for creating confident digital citizens
What is next?
To have a clear knowledge of what one wants to be or achieve
and the resolute determination to make it happen.
What is a vision?
A vision is a concise statement about where you want your school (Leaders, staff, learners, infrastructure) to be, at some point in the future. It is written in quite general terms.,
Why do we need a Vision?
Without a shared vision, planning may be ad hoc, resources may be underutilised and there may be little commitment to implement the planning steps. Also the implementation may rely unduly on the continued involvement of certain individuals.
A Vision gives us an end goal. And an end goal guides our actions and planning.
Examples of Vision statements
School One
ICT will be used effectively to enhance learning and teaching in all curriculum areas, to support collaborative and co-operative learning, to develop higher order thinking skills and to help all students to realise their educational and social potential.
School Two
ICT will be used extensively to enhance the learning experience of our school community and to develop students who are information literate, self-directed and committed to lifelong learning.
Theory of change
Moving from where we are currently, to a better space in the future, demands change. The Theory of Change is a great way to anticipate what that change may look like and plan for it in a practical, feasible way. It also can help us to structure a clear Vision and Mission.
Have a look at the KILT eLearning Theory of Change. Is is plausible?
A way to kickstart refreshing your school's e-Vision, mission and strategic planning, do a rewrite of KILTs theory of change - for your school's context, to guide your process..
Vision
What do you ultimately want to achieve?
Use your Theory of change to formulate your vision statement. This statement gives an indication and summarises the goals and objectives of where the school wants to be eventually in the future.
Mission
The mission statement speaks about you are going to make the changes happen that will ensure that you reach your vision. How - WHY
