- Launch MS Word, create a new document and save your document.

- Print a document.
- Knows at least three keyboard shortcuts for MS Word.
- Use the Format painter.
- Highlight text.
- Insert Superscript and subscript.
- Create a bulleted and numbered list.
- Indent text (using tab key or indent buttons).
- Align text (left, center, right, justify).
- Print/Export a document to PDF.
- Access Help within Word.
- Insert images located on the machine and from other sources. (Online, local machine, stock.)
- Customise the wrapping of text around an image.
- Insert and format shapes (resize, colour, borders etc.)
- Insert special characters and symbols.
- Format the wrapping of text around a shape.
- Create and insert a screenshot into your word document.
UNIT 1: INTRODUCTION TO WORD PROCESSING
Objective:
Enable teachers to open, create, save, and manage documents
Instructions:
- Open Microsoft Word from the Start Menu.
- Identify key interface components:
- Ribbon (tabs such as Home, Insert, Layout)
- Document area
- File tab
- Create a new document:
- File → New → Blank Document
- Type the text: This is my first worksheet as a Digital Foundations Teacher.
- Save the document:
- File → Save As
- Select a location
- File name: Practice1LyndiePrins
- Save and exit
- Open an existing document:
- Open MS Word
- File → Open → Browse → Select file

UNIT 2: TEXT BASICS IN WORD PROCESSING

- Backspace: delete left

- Select text by clicking and dragging.
- Apply basic formatting:

UNIT 3: PAGE LAYOUT AND VIEW OPTIONS

- Add a page border:
