My Personal journey as an ITE

My name is Zethu Teyise. I was born in Butterworth, a town in the Eastern Cape, and I currently reside in Knysna. I joined the program in August 2021 as a Junior ITE at Chris Nissen Primary School. When I started, I had only basic knowledge of computers, but during my time in the program, I learned so much more about technology.

Initially, my role involved helping learners in the computer lab to use technology. Later in 2021, an after-school program was introduced, focusing on Scratch coding and robotics. This program excited the learners as they explored computers and technology in new and advanced ways.

In 2022, every Friday, we had training sessions where our tech team introduced new tools and concepts. These sessions deepened my interest in technology. I discovered my passion for working with learners, and I realized that interacting with their diverse behaviors was something I truly enjoyed. This experience not only strengthened my passion but also boosted my confidence.

Over time, I gained valuable skills, experience, and knowledge. Currently, I work with teachers, helping them integrate technology into their classrooms. This work aims to make education more engaging and fun for both teachers and learners.
