Today we welcome our Tertiary Focus learners at the computer fun club, to earn their Slideshow Badges by showcasing their preparation for the future!!

Activity one: Navigating your files and folders (before you navigate your future😜) ITELink

• Create a folder for yourself in the online school folder. Your facilitator will give you the bit.ly shortcut to the School's Tertiary Launch folder (e.g. bit.ly/CHtertiarylaunch)
• Sign into your google account. If you do not have an gmail, create one!!
• Click on the given link to open the folder -->
• Right-click anywhere and choose New folder
• Put your Name and Surname and Gr (e.g. Piet Pompies Gr11) --> This is where you have to save ALL your files!
• Add it to your Drive and make it a starred folder!!

Activity Two: Am I ready for my Future?

• Open the following slideshow link bit.ly/FLslideshow This is the slideshow that you have to work on!
• Make a copy and Save the slideshow in your folder (look under starred folders) in the School's Future Launch folder (Activity 1). Navigate to your folder. Call it Name Surname Gr Slideshow 1
• Open it and follow the instructions in every slide at the bottom (or your ITE will talk you through it)
  • Slide 1: Insert your name and surname and grade and choose a theme for your slideshow
  • Slide 2: See the image above.
  • Slide 3: Create a video of why you think you are right for your future career. What does it take? Do you have the qualities to make it? Short 2 minute video. Save the video in your G-drive folder and embed it in this slide.
  • Slide 4-6: What do I need to get started? What where and how are you going to need to get started? Briefly explain with visuals on each step (e.g University application, NISFAS, Bursary application) Extra points for linked resources.

Activity 3 (Exit ticket)

• Apart from showing that you are ready for the future we also hope that you have gained some skills in using slideshows and navigating your school G-drive, folders and files. Please complete the following quick exit ticket and rate this Computer fun club session!!!
