Why do we need to know how to type?

You are probably quite okay with typing with your fingers on a cellphone screen, but do you know how to type on a computer keyboard? The future is digital and we all will need to learn how to type fast and accurately.

• At university or college you will be required to hand your assignments in as typed documents.
• Your CV will need to be typed
• Your projects have to be typed
• Emails and letters have to be typed
• Can you give some other places that you can think of where you will need to be able to type?

Activity 1: Hoekom moet ons kan tik? Why do we need to be able to type?

1. Open up a word document . Type your name and surname at the top left.
   Maak a Woord dokument oop en tik jou naam en van bo-aan aan die linkerkant
2. Save your document (File--> Save as--> yourname_type)
   Stoor jou dokument ((File--> Save as--> yourname_type)
3. Why do you need to be able to type? Answer this question in 5-20 words.

1. Go to http://games.djordjeungar.com/touchtype and type the instructions to follow the game. You have to type everything as you see it on the screen and try to type it before it reach the top/bottom of the screen.
