The criteria for the Typing Badge are as follows:

Please make sure that you can do ALL of the items below. If you can't do it, please ask your friendly ITE for support and additional one-on-one sessions. You have to:

• Attend a Typing Badge school-based workshop
• Practce all basic skills, including:
  • Use a QWERTY keyboard.
  • Complete the typing test at typingtest.com/certificate.php and earn your certificate
  • Establish a WPM (Word Per Minute) baseline speed (to improve on) by doing regular typing practice! Target: Minimum 40 words per minute (WPM)
  • You will have multiple opportunities to get to 40 Words per minute (test can be taken multiple times)
• Upload your Typing certificate to your Teacher folder.

Badge Activities

• Your ITE will take you through a school-based workshop and explain the Badge
• Answer the following questions in Mentimeter:
  • Why do we need to be able to type and know how to use the keyboard?
  • What are the advantages of being able to touch type (Not looking at the keyboard)
  • Which keyboard shortcuts do you know?
• Go to www.typingtest.com and earn your typing Baseline certificate by establishing your baseline speed. (typingtest.com/certificate.php)

• Keep on practicing and improving your typing skills (typingtest.com/trainer/)
