
Diep Proficient Mentor Programme
The Digital Proficient Mentor Programme is designed to strengthen teacher capacity and drive meaningful technology integration at a school level.
1. Purpose of the Mentor Programme
The programme aims to:
- Build a Professional Learning Community (PLC) rooted in good practice
- Strengthen peer-led professional development
- Support sustainable technology integration within schools
- Develop teacher leaders as change agents
- Scale implementation beyond foundational digital training
- Drive the development and use of a shared resource library (Padlet repository)
Mentors play a critical role in supporting teachers to move from basic digital exposure to intentional and effective classroom integration.
2. Mentor Teacher Expectations
Mentors are expected to actively engage in both training and school-based implementation.
Programme Requirements:
- Attend and participate in all four (4) Mentor & Guidance Support Sessions
- Successfully facilitate four (4) school-based training sessions
- Share workshop materials on the Padlet repository (with support from the ITE)
- Actively participate in the Mentor Community, sharing experiences, challenges, and learnings
- Prepare for sessions through collaboration with Zanele or the school-based ITE
Session Guidelines:
- Each training session must be 1.5 to 2 hours in duration
- Sessions should include practical tech integration strategies (e.g., tools, apps, gamification)
Mentor Role:
- Model and share effective digital teaching practices
- Facilitate professional development sessions within your allocated school
- Encourage classroom implementation and reflective practice
- Submit required documentation aligned to programme targets, with ITE support

4. Incentives and Recognition
Mentors who successfully meet programme expectations will receive:
- A Formal Certificate of Recognition
- Classroom equipment and resources in recognition of excellence and target completion
- Public acknowledgement as a Digital Proficient Mentor and Change Leader on Klearning
