This year has flown by and it is time for our last and final Teach-meet where we will celebrate our DIeP teachers' efforts, dedication and tech innovation in their classrooms. Our WCED colleagues will be there to judge our progress! It is time to determine:

Who went the DIeP-est? (First , Second and Third Prize)

We are looking for the best DIeP lesson. We have only 10 spaces to showcase our best lessons. You can use any of the DIeP lessons that you have done with your learners this year and make it even Diep-er (How would you improve on it for next year?). Your submission will be internally evaluated and the top 10 will present their lesson slideshow (see below) at the Teachmeet, where the delegates and judging panel (WCED) will vote. You will have 5 minutes to win us over. What are we looking for:

• A completed Diep Lesson plan (see template here) to use next year
• Proof of implementation (photos, videos, audio, worksheets, game links etc) from this year's e-lesson implementation.
• A slideshow (5 minutes) that tells (sells) the story of your tech infused lesson and your DIeP journey.
  • Was it learner centered?
  • Were the learners actively participating (not passive consumption)
  • Was TPACK balanced?
  • Where on the SAMR scale will you place your lesson?
  • How did your learners enjoy the tech infused lesson?
  • Did the lesson incorporate all 4 Cs? (Creativity, Collaboration, Critical thinking, Communication)
  • What strategies did you use? (flipped classroom, rotation stations, game based learning, story telling, discussion, speed dating, jigsaw etc)
  • How did your lesson accommodate
    • Attention
    • Engagement
    • Consolidation and
    • Feedback
  • What tech did you use? (apps, devices, tools)
  • What did you learn regarding the use of technology this year (the good. the bad and the ugly)
  • How DIeP did you go with technology this year? Can you go DIep-er and how? (SAMR, TPACK, 4Cs, learner centered)

Deadline for submission of above: Monday 28th October noon. 3pm Tuesday 29/10/2024 Please submit your lesson slideshow and evidence to your ITE or upload to your G-drive folder.

You have been introduced to some cool apps and tools this year and some of you have contributed new badges and tools to our teacher toolkit collection. So, now is the time to show off and find out who is the biggest app smasher in our KILT schools! We have 10 spaces with 3 minutes to wow us with your app(s) and how you used it in your lesson. Delegates will vote for the best app-smash. Remember to give your App-smah a funky name.

Badge wheel of fortune

You have been working hard to gather your badges of skills and knowledge of how to use the tech in your lessons. Now it is time for the spin off- sit back and enjoy. For every 5 badges that you have completed you get one entry into the spin. If you have reached your target for this year, you should have 2 entries! Please remember that you can only claim your badge if you are confident that you have the skills and knowledge required for that badge. and provided proof that you have done it. Our October log-frame closes on the 25th of October. Please submit your badges to your ITE.
