Story telling

You need to get your DIep teachers to incorporate storytelling into their lesson plans. Use the following as possible ideas for incorporating tech : (NB use our Diep guidelines to infuse!)

• Let the kids draw a story (Paint, Paintjoy, paper and Camscan--> digital picture)
• Then tell the story (show and tell) (can incorporate recording via whatsapp or on device recording device) or via video recording
• Then write the story (or emojify it)
• Then identify the main parts of the story (plot, characters etc)
• Create a wordlist of difficult words (flippity flashcards, wordseach games)
• Create a quiz about the story (kahoot, quizziz)

Tools:

• Mentimeter (mentimeter.com) (one on one sessions)
  Divide class into groups with one tablet each. During the lesson give them live things to do (quiz, word cloud, multiple choice questions. With the little-lies use pictures in the items. Find an appropriate video with instructions on how to use Mentimeter in the classroom.
  • Find an appropriate video with instructions on how to use Mentimeter in the classroom. (Watch and summarise)
  • Create a mentimeter for each least one of your teachers topic for week.... (ask them)
  • Test your mentimeter slides with a few of your buddies

• Drawing tools (Paint. Paintjoy,etc)
  • Find a drawing tool that does not have a lot of adverts/ are classroom appropriate (try them out)
  • On a PC, PAINT always works well and can a a fully fledged workshop. (design an hour long workshop withobjectives:
    • Get the learners to
      • Save a file
      • Use the mouse, move click drag
      • Learn how an instruction ribbon works.
      • Add text and type
      • Copy and paste
      • Colour in
      • Crop

• Emojis and AI
  • Create an emoji storytelling elesson appropriate for your diep teacher(s)
  • Read the emoji in the classroom book and summarise it using AI (how would you do it/)
  • How would you use the emoji PowerPoint in one of your teachers lessons?
