The Free Reading Program is free for Teachers to use with their learners. It takes learners though various levels of reading comprehension exercises as chosen by the teacher and is a comprehensive online studying tool, designed to reinforce fundamental reading skills. The program caters for grade R to grade 7 and includes all aspects of the English language (language structure, comprehension, reading and phonics. It is easy for teachers to set up and learners can engage at the level suitable for them
The criteria for the Free Reading Program Badge are as follows:
Please make sure that you can do ALL of the items below. If you need some assistance, please ask your friendly ITE for support. Below the criteria section you will find a list of activities to help you achieve the criteria for the Free Reading Program badge.
You have to be able to:
- Create an account as an educator within the program.
- Successfully register the learners who you want to use the programme with.
- Create unique usernames and passwords for each learner.
- Assign learners to the appropriate level based on their academic needs.
- Provide learners with time to engage and play through various levels in the program.
- Add a screenshot of your learners classroom (see screenshot below) to your FreeLearningProgramme Badge folder.
- Take a photo of your learners (from behind) completing their programme and add to your FreeLearningProgramme Badge folder.
