On the 3rd of November we attended our regular ITE training hosted at Hornlee Primary School by the core team. We were tasked with creating a lesson for a subject of our choice between English and mathematics that integrates the use of technology. The specifications for the lesson were that it has to be  learner centered, interactive and tech infused.

We were split into groups of two so that we could get started with this challenge. I was partnered up with Cameron and we swiftly got started with our lesson. We chose to focus on ENGLISH for Grade 2's so our lesson revolves around the betterment of use of language and speech.

We created a lesson plan using the WCED portal, where we found the curriculum and made use of eduaide.com(which is an AI-powered tool that teachers may use to create unique educational resources more quickly than ever before possible.)

In our lesson, we specifically focused on practicing the use and sound of the different vowels. we created a Slide Show on which the children will focus as the lesson is underway. This slide show consists of the different vowels and an array of words that use that or any other vowels to be complete. This will then be used to practice the different vowels and how they sound.

In the same slides, we will also focus on building up the story telling abilities of the children. We planned on doing that by using pictures where the children will explain to us what is happening in that specific picture. The pictures illustrate the story picture by picture. The story we will be using is "The Red Riding Hood." At first we will have to familiarize the kids with the storyline so that they have an idea of what happens in the story. In addition, we also decided to gamify our lesson by creating a Flippity on vowels. In this game, children will be tasked with matching the vowel and/or sound of the vowel to a word that makes use of the vowel within it.
