HACKATHON COMPETITION

We were inspired by our young and bright minds at Percy Mdala High school as they came up with various ways of solving the problems that we as the society and the environment are facing using ROBOTS (AI).

The Competition took place at a local high school called 'Percy Mdala High School ' on the 1st November 2023, it began at exactly 15:00 pm. The competition was all about finding solutions to problems that the environment and the society are facing for example, load shedding, Global warming, safety and security etc.. and trust us when we say 'They were amazing !!'. The learners not only captured the audience and the Judges with their incredible problem solving skills but showed confidence and were very comfortable to speak in front of people for their age, at least that was one of the audience's opinion.

The learners displayed features out of this world, things that we only imagine seeing on the TV but you could see in their eyes and their passion while presenting that they know what they are talking about and they know that it is possible and that if it were to be put in action, it would turn out to be the most successful AI development ever. The learners presented their power points and then did a practical of how exactly their robot would help to save both the environment and our society and it all made complete sense.

as we all know that not everyone wins, The first prize went to Group 'Humanoids ' and the second prize went to Group 'Game Changers', the first prize was (a gift card for 3 at SPUR) and the second one was (3 school instrumental boxes). Just as we thought the show was over one of the judges gave away a slab of chocolate to the Third Team but then one of our Managers felt that was unfair and gave away her chocolate to the last team. Now everyone was a winner!!.

we therefore encourage the young minds to pursue their passions for 'what is a dream deferred, does it dry out like a raisin in the sun or does it explode ??'..to find an answer to that they have to carry on with the burning fire of love that they have for ROBOTICS and see where it takes them in life. The competition was very successful, everyone came out with something new and they are all starting to see the future itself in a different perspective.

A special 'Thank you' to all those who gave their time to come and attend the competition, we appreciate your support. Very much.
