In this TTT session you will get to know (play), create and use Kahoot in your classroom to create quizzes and get points for gamification of your lessons!
Activity 1
- Play the Kahoot to see how it can be used in your classroom (and to get a better understanding of how the points system works)
- Go to play.kahoot.it on your cellphone or your computer and enter the code 5732986
(https://kahoot.it/?pin=5732986&refer_method=link ) - The Facilitator will open the Quiz on the screen and once they see all the teachers on the quiz board, they will start the game (Kahoot).
- At the end of every question, the leaderboard is shown and the Facilitator will move on to the next question until it shows the winner of the game (Kahoot).
- At the end, the Facilitator will show you how to export each Player's game results to an Excel spreadsheet (click on Summary- View full report- Players- Look for the three-dot menu, top right, download as xls). As a teacher, you can use a Kahoot quiz as a way to do formative assessments with your learners.
- Go to play.kahoot.it on your cellphone or your computer and enter the code 5732986
Activity 2
- You will now create your own Kahoot with one of the topics that you will be doing in the following week. (it also works great for revision before the exam).
- Go to create.kahoot.it and sign in (if you are not signed in already)
- Click on Create - Kahoot - New Kahoot
- You can choose between a multiple-choice or a true or false quiz
- Create your own Kahoot and if you are a maths/science teacher, don't forget to play with the math editor.
Activity 3
- It is not always necessary to reinvent the wheel as many teachers are using Kahoot and creating amazing quizzes for all curriculum areas. So go and search for topics in your curriculum by clicking on Discover and type in your subject area, grade and topic.
- You can then duplicate the Kahoot and change (edit) it for your classroom purpose. See if you can find a Kahoot that can just be adapted.
- Please paste the link to the Kahoot that you created into the comment section below. You will get 5 points for the comment and 20 for your Kahoot! Also, state how you enjoyed this session!!
- Don't forget to add your e-lesson plan for another 20 points.

Subject: TTT/TwT
Topic: How to use Kahoot (The point system)

Description: This lesson is to get the teachers to use the quiz app Kahoot and our quiz topic is aimed at understanding how they can earn points for themself and their school by participating in a quiz using their cellphones. They will participate in a Kahoot and then create one for themselves to use in their classrooms
How did I use technology? I created a Kahoot about the point system as well as a blogpost to take the teachers through the activities. They then had to make comments on the blogpost.
