What is a mind-map?

During this module you will experience how to implement the Jigsaw teaching strategy while getting to know more about how to use your devices, technology, software and apps for teaching and learning.

The Jigsaw  teaching strategy helps learner collaborate and rely on one another, while making sure that all group members are actively involved.  This teaching strategy is effective for accomplishing multiple tasks at once and for giving students a greater sense of individual responsibility.

How can we use mind-mapping in the classroom?

With this strategy each member of a group becomes an expert of a specific topic, activity or skill and then explain it to their group. This means that each member has to take responsibility for mastering the given expert content. This strategy offers a way to help learners to understand and retain information while they develop their collaboration skills.

To actually experience this strategy in a real live environment is the best way to prepare for when you will be implementing it in your classroom. Below we will give you some background information for each of the activities, to inspire you in preparing your own lesson plans!!
